The Texas UIL baseball playoffs move on to the regional finals this week with six of the eight teams currently ranked nationally by MaxPreps still in the running for a state championship.

Only the No. 21 Midland Bulldogs have been ousted from the playoffs while The Bennett School [Houston] Rebels compete in the state's prep school ranks. The winners of the regional finals will advance to the state semifinals next week.

The ranked teams in Texas are spread across four UIL playoff divisions with the national No. 1 Tomball Cougars competing for both the Class 6A Division II state championship as well as the national title. The only other ranked Class 6A squad is the Keller Indians, and they are competing in the Division I bracket.
