Badger rallies to get by Bulldogs with playoffs looming

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WKBN) – After falling behind early, Badger stormed back to claim a 5-1 victory over East Palestine, closing out the regular season with a 10-7 record. The turning point came in the third inning. Trailing by a run, the Braves’ offense erupted for a three-run rally.

Ernie Cunningham racked up three hits, while Tyler McWilliams delivered a double and a single. Lewis Flowers and Jack Harnett both contributed base hits as well.

While the bats provided the spark, Michael Waybright tossed a seven-inning complete game, needing just 81 pitches, allowing only three hits and striking out five batters. East Palestine saw solid contributions from Clark Rutledge, Luke Kinkead, and Peyton Rutledge, who each tallied hits. The Bulldogs (10-12) will look to bounce back as they host Mogadore this Friday in their playoff opener.
