⚾Game of the Day Cranston West 12, Portsmouth 10 Dylan Milano sent the Falcons into the playoffs in style. The sophomore shortstop hit two home runs, including the walk-off shot to left field to lift Cranston West to a 12-10 victory. Milano broke the 10-all tie on the sixth pitch of the at-bat in the home half of the seventh.
He finished 4-for-5 with six RBIs in the triumph. Joshua Albizu also hit a three-run home run to left field in the third inning that gave Cranston West an 8-2 advantage. But the Patriots didn’t go away as Tyler Doucet and Avery Amaio hit back-to-back home runs in the fifth to cut the deficit to 9-7.
Portsmouth then tied the game in the sixth frame on Brady MacDonald’s two-RBI single. MacDonald also hit a home run as the ball was flying out of Cranston on a windy and hot afternoon. The Falcons now head to the preliminary round of the playoffs and likely enter as the No.
