Latest update mentions potential dark horse in A.J. Brown trade talk

Yahoo Sports

While the Patriots remain the likely favorite to trade for A.J. Brown, eyes have started to turn to a potential dark horse suitor.

The New England Patriots have long been viewed as a team that will acquire Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A. J. Brown on or after June 1.

However, according to NFL insider Jason La Canfora, a personnel executive mentioned the Jacksonville Jaguars as a possible fit for the three-time All-Pro wide receiver. Given the 2025 struggles of Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter being utilized more as a cornerback, La Canfora noted that a veteran playmaker like Brown could help the Jaguars.

La Canfora wrote : "Another personnel exec mentioned Jacksonville as a potential fit for Brown. Jags receiver Brian Thomas, Jr. has regressed and been subject of trade rumors and 2025 top pick Travis Hunter is going to be playing way more cornerback than receiver moving forward and a vet like Brown could help fill a void there.

" The Patriots have still widely been viewed as the likeliest landing spot for Brown, who already has a close relationship with head coach Mike Vrabel. New England also has a clear need for a No. 1 receiver to pair with Romeo Doubs.
