John Simpson says blocking for Derrick Henry will be 'insane'
Ravens offensive guard John Simpson shared his excitement about blocking for Derrick Henry, calling the experience “crazy” and saying Baltimore’s offense will be “fun for sure"
The Ravens already had one of the league's most dangerous rushing attacks before Derrick Henry arrived. Now, Baltimore's offensive linemen are getting their first real opportunity to experience what it’s like having the future Hall of Fame running back behind them every day in practice. During OTA media availability, John Simpson was asked what it will be like blocking for Henry this season, and his reaction said a lot about the excitement surrounding the Ravens' offense right now.
Instead of giving a long technical answer, Simpson almost sounded stunned trying to describe the opportunity. While speaking to reporters, Simpson said: “I don't even have words to explain it. I'm not going to lie, I don't have words to explain it, but I mean, the best way I can explain it is just like crazy.
It's going to be insane. It's going to be fun for sure. ” That excitement is understandable.
Henry's combination of size, power, and durability changes the entire mentality of an offense, especially for an offensive line that already takes pride in playing physically at the point of attack.
