The Martha's Vineyard girls tennis team continues to prove why they sit at the top of the Division 3 MIAA Power Rankings. The Vineyarders (15-0) won their 15th straight to remain unbeaten as they swept Nantucket (12-5). Laina Dubin defeated Viki Bozhkova 6-0, 6-0 in first singles, Charlotte Marshard beat Sara Dussault in second singles 6-0, 6-0, and Josey Johns won third singles over Gabby Nokolova 6-3, 6-1.
Leah Thomson and Zoe Treitman defeated Sutton Lebretcht and Evie Phelps 6-1, 6-0 in first doubles, while Tessa Schulz and Maple Martone beat Presy Penkova and Emery Bouchard 6-1,6-2 in second doubles. In other high school action: Girls Tennis St. John Paul II 4, Mashpee 1 : The Lions (8-8) have won two of their last three matches as they beat the Falcons (6-13).
Sophia Martins beat Hayden Shvonski 6-2, 6-0 in second singles, and Emily Desruisseaux defeated Lilly Lewis 6-0, 6-1 in third singles. Isabella Loffredo and Ella Corcoran beat Chloe Fischer and Hamna Shakeel 6-2, 6-1 in first doubles, while Stella Rose and Maria Roncelli defeated Audrey Ogilvie and Greenley Davis 6-0, 6-0 in second doubles. Esme Milde beat Lexi Sadlemire 6-2, 6-2 in first singles for Mashpee.
Old Rochester 5, Bourne 0 : The Canalmen (11-7) were swept for just the third time this season, twice by Old Rochester. Monomoy 4, Sandwich 1 : The Sharks (15-2) have won seven of their last eight matches as they beat the Blue Knights (2-12). Ella Cutter beat Abby Binienda 6-0, 6-0 in first singles, Hanadi Rezk defeated Senja Kravitz 6-1, 6-2 in second singles, and Alexa Spirito won third singles 6-0, 6-1 over Tenley Rothera.
