Defending NCAA champion GVSU women's basketball hires new assistant
After associate coach Phil Sayers left to take the head coaching job at Lindenwood, GVSU hired a new assistant women's basketball coach.
Grand Valley State head women's basketball coach Mike Williams announced the hiring of new assistant coach, Scott Carlson. Carlson comes to the defending NCAA Division II champions with more than 15 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels. He takes over for Phil Sayers, who took the head coaching position at Lindenwood.
"I want to thank coach Williams and Keri Becker for giving me the opportunity to work at Grand Valley State," Carlson said. "I'm looking forward to getting to work and continuing the success of the program.
