Insider reveals Chiefs WR underwent surprise offseason knee surgery
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice underwent a surprise offseason knee surgery.
The Kansas City Chiefs need their receiving corps to turn in an outstanding performance next season after the team saw the unit struggle in its failed 2025 regular season campaign. While Chiefs general manager Brett Veach did his best to acquire new pass-catchers for Kansas City over the past few months, he may need to redouble his efforts after news broke that star wide receiver Rashee Rice underwent surgery on his knee earlier this year. Veteran NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that Rice had unexpectedly gone under the knife in a post to his official Twitter account on May 19: One week before being ordered to serve 30 days in jail, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice underwent a clean-up surgery on his right knee to remove loose debris that was causing inflammation and now is expected to sideline him two months, league sources told ESPN.

If Rice needs to miss time due to his offseason surgery, Chiefs fans should expect speedy wideouts Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton to get more playing time during training camp and the preseason.
