Washington Football Starts Late Push For 4-Star Mississippi DT

The Washington football program extended an offer out Friday night to four-star defensive lineman Sam Lejeune, a top 150 recruit from Mississippi.

Not often does Washington venture into the state of Mississippi for a high school football recruit. Sam LeJeune is one of the few exceptions. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound defensive lineman from Poplarville, Mississippi, announced his latest offer from the Huskies this past Thursday, marking the 25th program to make a push for the four-star recruit in the 2027 class.

Last October, UW offered one of LeJeune's teammates, four-star running back Ty Keys, who has since committed to Miami. While the Huskies weren't able to make headway with Keys, making a late offer relative to where the overall process is with most recruits in the '27 cycle is significant and similar to the staff's pursuit of Tufanua Ionatana "T.
