Start of Mets vs Nationals on Tuesday delayed due to weather
Due to inclement weather in the Washington area, the start of the Mets game against the Nationals on Tuesday was delayed.
WASHINGTON, D. C. — On the heels of a four-hour, eight-minute series opener on Monday, the Mets and Nationals could be in for another late night on Tuesday.
The start of the two teams' second matchup at Nationals Park, originally scheduled for 6:45 p. m. , has been delayed due to inclement weather in the area.
While the rain had yet to fall a little more than a half hour until first pitch, the field was staged and the grounds crew waited to deploy the tarp in foul territory. No official word on a start time has been announced for Tuesday's game. It will set back Nick Morabito's debut back some time.
Morabito, the No. 11 prospect according to MLB pipeline, is penciled into left field and No. 7 in the lineup for his debut.
