Meet the Tennessee Mr. Baseball winners for 2026 TSSAA season
Tennessee baseball was well represented as the TBCA Mookie Betts Mr. Baseball awards on May 19.
MURFREESBORO − Lipscomb Academy star and Tennessee baseball signee Jack Dugan didn't need to look far to see some of the best TSSAA baseball players in the state. All he had to do was glance over at his fellow Division II-AA finalists, a collection of SEC signees, during the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Mookie Betts Mr. Baseball Awards, which was held at Family Worship Center on May 19.
But it was Dugan who came out on top, winning the award in DII-AA after finishing as a finalist last year. "It was a great division," said Dugan, whose Mustangs are competing in the DII-AA state championships. "(Christian Brothers' Will Brick and CPA's Bo Holloway) are two really good players and are really fun to watch.
" Dugan, the grandson of longtime Lipscomb University baseball coach Ken Dugan, hit . 600 with 11 doubles, two triples, 10 homers, 31 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. Brick, one of the nation's top catchers, a Mississippi State signee, a Team USA 18-under player and a Major League Baseball draft prospect, hit .
561 with 16 extra-base hits. Holloway, a Vanderbilt signee, went 7-0 with a 1. 04 ERA and 66 strikeouts for the Lions, who are also in the state baseball tournament.
