Colt Emerson stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the eight inning. Josh Naylor was on second, Dominic Canzone was on first. In only his second game in the major leagues, Emerson took a first pitch strike.
After a few balls out of the zone and two foul flyouts, Emerson made contact. The ball landed in the right field bleachers. More than 30,000 fans at T-Mobile Park erupted at the rookie's first career hit and home run.
