Mickey Loomis says the New Orleans Saints have an offer on the table waiting for Cameron Jordan to sign it, but his delay to do so says a lot about its value. Jordan is one of the few Saints players remaining on the free agent market (along with his longtime teammate Taysom Hill), and with organized team activities picking up around the league, he'll be looking to somewhere sometime soon. It just may not be New Orleans that puts the best offer in front of him.
Loomis addressed both situations during a brief presser at Monday's Saints Hall of Fame golf tournament. One of the first questions that came up was whether Cameron Jordan and Taysom Hill have received contract offers from the Saints. "Cam certainly does.
Taysom does not," Loomis said. When asked again about Jordan he replied "Yes. We've had, we have a contract offer out on him.
Yes. " It's been previously reported that Jordan has had a standing offer from the Saints waiting for months; it doesn't appear to have the terms he's looking for. From the team's perspective, they don't want to tie up too many resources in an aging player, even one as respected and accomplished as Jordan.
