Eagles land an Edge Rusher in the latest 2027 mock draft
The Eagles add a promising young edge rusher in a recent 2027 mock draft, but that would indicate something has gone wrong, wouldn't it?
Way-too-early mock drafts are built on projection, guesswork, and a healthy amount of overreaction. They're fun conversation starters, but they also occasionally reveal how outsiders view a roster's long-term outlook. Philadelphia Eagles fans may want to feast their eyes on a recent theory offered by CBS Sports' Mike Renner.
In his latest 2027 NFL mock draft , something jumps off the page in Round 1 at pick 27. Renner has the Eagles selecting Oklahoma State Cowboys edge rusher Jaleel Johnson. As Renner states, he's the type of explosive pass rusher Philadelphia typically covets.
“The Eagles love twitched-up edge rushers, and Jaleel Johnson fits that mold,” Renner wrote. “At 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds, he explodes off the edge. While he’s a bit of a linear athlete, he can do serious damage as a bull-rusher.
” But why would they covet him on the first day of the selection process? That's a question that needs to be explored. The player fit makes sense.
