The Denver Broncos will take the field for OTAs starting June 2, and quarterback Bo Nix's injury recovery will be a major storyline.
Nix suffered a fractured ankle in Denver's divisional round win over the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs last season, which caused him to miss the AFC Championship Game versus the New England Patriots and receive surgery. After rehabbing in the offseason, Nix was expected to be ready for Broncos OTAs at the beginning of June, but the third-year signal-caller had another procedure done on his ankle in April , leaving his status unclear. Though a second procedure on the ankle isn't ideal, it sounds like the operation won't set Nix back much based on the latest injury update from an NFL insider.
Nix should take the field in June and be fully cleared for training camp During an appearance on the Up and Adams Show , 104. 3 The Fan's James Palmer said that Nix will be on the field in June and should be fully cleared in July. "He [Nix] had a second procedure, and it slided him back a little bit," Palmer said.
"But he'll be on the field in June and will be full go in July, I'm told. When training camp starts, he should be right there. " It's unclear whether Nix will be actively taking reps at OTAs, but based on what Palmer said, it sounds like he'll be in attendance and will at least do some work on the field.
