Lopez sustained the injury during Sunday’s game against Real Betis and now looks set to miss World Cup 2026 with Spain.

Pedri says it’s a brutal blow for his team-mate and admitted he was really upset to hear the diagnosis. “It’s a blow for everyone. Yesterday I was with him.

He was really down. I get on very well with him and I hope he recovers well because he is going to give us a lot both at Barça and in the national team,” he said, per Sport. Fermin has played a key role in Barcelona’s title win this season, scoring 13 goals and grabbing 17 assists, and Pedri says he’s happy with the campaign.

“It’s been a good season. When you win titles you are always satisfied, but it is clear that we have some thorns in our side,” he said. “On a personal level I’m happy, I’ve had some injuries that I wish hadn’t happened.
