Yahoo Sports

Rickea Jackson’s torn ACL ends her WNBA season prematurely. Chicago Sky face major questions heading into their remaining games.

The Chicago Sky have been rocked by the devastating news that star forward Rickea Jackson will miss the entire 2026 WNBA season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament. The injury occurred during the team’s loss to the Minnesota Lynx on May 17, and Jackson underwent an MRI showing the tear in her left knee. Jackson had been performing at an All-Star level as she transitioned into her rookie year, averaging 22 points per game with a promising start.

Her absence leaves Chicago facing significant challenges, especially after Gabriela Jaquez’s impressive effort against Minnesota. The team’s general manager, Jeff Pagliocca, expressed his sadness and confidence in Jackson's recovery, believing she would be back on the court soon.
