ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter shares a warning regarding Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' status | @EdEastonJr

During a recent appearance on 'The Pat McAfee Show,' ESPN Senior Insider Adam Schefter opened up about Patrick Mahomes' progress and hopes for starting Week 1 against the Denver Broncos on September 14. "Is he gonna be 80%, 90%, 100%? Like that's hard to imagine that he could just step in there right away after such a significant knee injury and pick up right where he left off and be as great as he's always been," said Schefter, "I just think there's gonna be a little bit of an adjustment to what he's come back from, which is significant.

" "The Chiefs have said that Patrick Mahomes is way ahead of schedule.. It sounds like he's tracking to be ready for their season opener on Monday night" @AdamSchefter #PMSLive pic. twitter.

The latest video adds more hope for the two-time league MVP to return for the Monday Night Football season opener. On December 14th, 2025, Mahomes suffered a torn ACL and LCL late during the Chiefs ' Week 15 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

He continues to rehab and is reportedly ahead of schedule with his recovery. This article originally appeared on Chiefs Wire: NFL Insider shares warning regarding Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' status
