Rousey Vs. Carano Fight Night Weights Revealed: Arman’s Rival Packs On Nearly 30 Pounds
INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA - MAY 16: Namo Fazil tapes his hands before his welterweight bout against Jake Babian during the preliminary fights of Netflix's Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano at Intuit Dome on May 16, 2026 in Inglewood, California. (Photo by Melina Pizano/Getty Images for Netflix) | Getty Images for Netflix The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) is the only major commission that routinely releases the weight of athletes on fight night.
As part of the commission’s efforts to reduce extreme weight cutting, rehydration weights are recorded and released to the public. Since the inaugural MVP MMA event debuted on Netflix over the weekend (Sat. , May 16, 2026) in Inglewood, California, all of that fight night weigh-in information is now available.
And there are some interesting tidbits. In the main event, for example, former Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey only regained a single pound. Gina Carano, conversely, regained a full 10 pounds … though that weight advantage was not particularly useful in avoiding the infamous “Rowdy” armbar .
In the co-main event, Nate Diaz outweighed Mike Perry by four pounds on fight night, but once again, still wound up bludgeoned by the slightly lighter man . Outside of the Heavyweights, most fighters on the card regained between seven and 10 percent of their weight. The major exception was Namo Fazil, the Welterweight prospect who nearly got into a brawl with Arman Tsarukyan after submitting Jake Babian in the second round.
Fazil packed on a whopping 27 pounds between weigh-ins and fight night or 17% of his weigh-in weight. Likely, he will not be allowed to compete at Welterweight again in California.
