Bad news for Shedeur.

Deshaun Watson Browns news is the last thing Shedeur Sanders wanted to hear originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . Deshaun Watson's few years with the Cleveland Browns have been far from ideal, which has led to many suggesting that the team should cut ties with him.

As things stand, there's an expectation that not only will Watson be on the Browns' roster next year, but he also has a real opportunity to be the starting quarterback. Whether that's bad news for Shedeur Sanders or not remains to be seen, as things have to play out before we see what happens, but the latest report from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN doesn't sound ideal for Sanders or any other quarterback on the roster. โ€œIโ€™m told heโ€™s hit it off with Todd Monken, whoโ€™s got an offensive concept, some elements that Watson has run in the past and been his best at โ€” a little bit of a departure from what they were running with Kevin Stefanski,โ€ Fowler reported of Watson, H/T Heavy .

Todd Monken will do his best to ensure that Watson is at least in a position to succeed. At this point, it's about the former star doing what he has to do to look right on the field. Remember now, there was a time when Watson was viewed as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

He hasn't shown that with the Cleveland Browns like he did with the Houston Texans , but that doesn't mean things can't change with a new coach.
