According to a recent report, the Sixers are looking at a few different names to fill the general manager role in the front office.

The Philadelphia 76ers have a few things on their mind going into the offseason, whether it’s the usual free agency moves and potential resignings, but the main cloud surrounding the team has been their search for a new general manager.
Philadelphia began its search following the departure of former general manager Daryl Morey in mid-May, following the team’s elimination from the NBA playoffs, which came through a four-game sweep by their division rivals, the New York Knicks . Former Golden State Warriors executive Bob Myers stepped up to lead the search for the Sixers, and, according to a recent report, some potential names to keep an eye on have begun to surface. As reported by Marc Stein of The Stein Line , the Sixers have been intrigued by a few figures, including veteran front office presence Neil Olshey and current Oklahoma City Thunder front office mainstay Vince Rozman.
“Other names that have been mentioned in connection with Philadelphia at this early stage: Sixers consultant Neil Olshey (who has long been close with Myers) and Oklahoma City executive Vince Rozman (who joined Sam Presti's front office with the Thunder after a lengthy stint in Philadelphia),” writes Stein. It’s beginning to appear that Philadelphia isn’t stopping at the aforementioned pair, as they’ve been recently intrigued by Mike Gansey and Nick U’Ren, according to Stein. “Then on Monday two more names emerged as Philly front office candidates as we first reported below on Twitter: Cavaliers general manager Mike Gansey and Phoenix Mercury GM Nick U'Ren, who worked under Myers with the Warriors before his move to the WNBA,” explained Stein.
Who are Gansey and U’Ren? Gansey is currently the general manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers, having manned the post since 2022, being a part of the front office that has helped build teams that have made it to the playoffs on several occasions, with his current side starting their Eastern Conference Finals series against the New York Knicks on Tuesday night. While Gansey is spending time in an NBA front office, U’Ren is currently spending time on the WNBA side of things with the Phoenix Mercury, having gotten his start in Arizona back in July 2023.
