Simard scores six goals to propel Bourne girls lacrosse to win

Bourne girls lacrosse is aiming to finish the season on a high, and securing back-to-back wins for the first time this spring will go a long way to help do that. Taylor Simard scored six goals to lead the Canalmen (5-11) to an 18-12 win over Somerset-Berkley on Monday. Tessa Stone, Mackenna Luce and Kaitlyn Hill each scored three goals, while Gianna Lyons added a pair of goals.
Charlotte Taylor scored once and Mackinley Scully tallied three assists. Eliza Denietolis had an assist. Mia Lowden made eight saves in goal.
In other high school sports action: Girls Lacrosse Mashpee 18, Sturgis East 3: Ciara Hendricks and Claire Howard scored six goals each for the Falcons (12-5) against the winless Storm (0-14), while Sophia Morin added five goals and Aryanna Cuozzo tallied one goal. Riley Thomas made 10 saves in net to climb within four saves of 500 for her career. Boys Lacrosse Marthaโs Vineyard 16, Monomoy 0: The Vineyarders (5-10) ended a three-game losing streak against the Sharks (4-12), who saw Harry Beaumont make 17 saves in the defeat.
Bourne/Mashpee 15, Somerset Berkley 0: Nolan Scofield made six saves and recorded his first career shutout for the Canalmen (15-1). Charlie Seitz paced the offense with six goals and two assists, while Brady Banks tallied six assists and two goals. Jack Balfour scored once and had two assists.
