(Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) Mayra Bueno Silva is no longer an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter. Indeed, the 14-fight Octagon veteran — who competed at women’s Flyweight and Bantamweight— has been removed from UFC’s active roster , according to social media account UFC Roster Watch.

That means she has been released from her respective contract and/or the promotion decided not to extend it. Bueno Silva (10-7) originally earned her way into the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil , where she submitted Mayana Kellem in just over one minute to secure a contract. The Brazilian immediately made noise in her Octagon debut by submitting Gillian Robertson , but her early UFC run was inconsistent, going 1-2-1 across her next four appearances.

Everything changed once “Sheetara” moved back up to Bantamweight. Bueno Silva suddenly caught fire, putting together a run that included victories over Stephanie Egger , Wu Yanan , and Holly Holm . Her submission win over Holm initially looked like the biggest victory of her career before it was later overturned to a “No-Contest” after Bueno Silva tested positive for ADHD medication .

Still, the streak was enough to earn her a title shot against Raquel Pennington at UFC 297 . Unfortunately for the Brazilian, that championship opportunity marked the beginning of a brutal skid. Bueno Silva lost a one-sided decision to Pennington and never regained momentum afterward, ultimately dropping five straight fights to close out her UFC run.
