Ex-UW WR Becomes UFL Leading Receiver After Game-Winning Performance

Former Washington Huskies star wide receiver Jaydon Mickens has climbed to the top of the UFL leaderboard.

Former Washington Huskies standout wide receiver Jaydon Mickens emerged from this past weekend as the United Football League’s leading receiver after sealing the Birmingham Stallions’ 21-17 overtime victory over the Dallas Renegades. Mickens hauled in the game-winning two-point conversion in overtime and an 18-yard touchdown to set up the game-tying extra point just before the two-minute warning in regulation, finishing with six catches for 82 yards—both of which led the team—to go along with his second touchdown catch of the 2026 season. His team-leading performance to secure the Stallions’ second victory of the season also put him atop the UFL receiving charts with a league-high 38 receptions for 486 receiving yards, no small feat for the 32-year-old.

"It's just through experience," Mickens said when asked about where his energy comes from. "I always had to be a guy that had high energy. I've always been a smaller guy, especially coming out of high school (and) coming out of college.

And then when you go undrafted in the NFL, and you pan out (with) nine years and a Super Bowl, there's a standard I have to set every day. I can't miss practice. I can't miss a down.

I can't miss a route. I can't drop a ball. " earn every moment 💪 pic.
