One of those programs was Big Ten rival, Penn State, which is located in Chesney’s home state of Pennsylvania. Chesney ultimately decided to take the job with UCLA and has already started transforming the program. Chesney explained why he chose the Bruins over other schools in a recent interview with Liam Blutman of Barstool Sports.

Chesney said the location also opens opportunities to meet people who can prepare him and his players for life after football. Chesney said he was also impressed by the UCLA alumni.
