Boys golf - Check out results from the Section 9 tournament

Josh Yan of Newburgh Free Academy will carry a three-shot lead into the final round of the Section 9 boys golf tournament on Wednesday. In Monday's opening round at West Point Golf Course, Yan shot a 72. He leads Kaiden Lothrop of Pine Bush and Keegan Smith of Goshen, both of whom shot 75.

Hokai Liu of Rondout Valley shot 78, with Josh Bujno of Monroe-Woodbury and Matthew Simmons of Red Hook shooting 79. Last week, Yan won the OCIAA tournament by seven strokes. The cut was 86 strokes, with 20 golfers advancing.
