Yahoo Sports

The Kentucky Wildcats are looking ahead to 2028, and have now offered the top center in that recruiting class.

Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team have struggled with recruiting so far during his tenure. They failed to land any of their top targets this year, but aren't giving up in any way. They have already offered a number of the top 2027 recruits, and on Monday, offered one of the best 2028 has to offer in center Yann Kamagate .

Kamagate is a 7'0", 230 lb center out of California who already has a host of offers from schools like Kansas, Arizona, and North Carolina among others. He is currently rated five stars by 247Sports and ranks as their No. 4 overall player in the 2028 class.

With tremendous size and athleticism, Kamagate projects as a difference maker at the next level. He's averaging 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game for his Adidas 3SSB team while shooting at a high percentage. As a member of the 2028 class, Kamagate won't be making a decision anytime soon, but Kentucky is in on him early, and is sure to be heavily involved throughout the process.
