Caden Glauber named ACC freshman of the year

North Carolina is the No. 2 team in the country, according to both D1Baseball and USA TODAY Sports , largely because of its pitching staff. One key member, reliever Caden Glauber , has been rewarded for his efforts as ACC Freshman of the Year — the program’s first Freshman of the Year since Aaron Sabato in 2019 — and he hasn’t pitched like a typical freshman.

He earned the honor with a blend of volume, efficiency and poise in high-leverage situations. Glauber has had an impressive freshman season and has become a key piece of North Carolina’s bullpen. He is 8-0 over 22 appearances, including two starts, and leads the ACC with a 1.
