Journalist: Liverpool ‘would love’ to sign 19-year-old forward Liverpool Interest in Yan Diomande Grows Amid Search for New Forward Liverpool’s summer recruitment plans continue to dominate discussion around the club, and one name increasingly linked with a move to Anfield is Yan Diomande . During the latest Media Matters podcast on Anfield Index , Dave Davis and David Lynch discussed Liverpool’s growing interest in the RB Leipzig forward and whether he has emerged as the club’s leading attacking target. As Liverpool prepare for a major rebuild after a disappointing season under Arne Slot, wide attacking reinforcements are expected to become a priority.

Davis noted that Liverpool have already been linked with “about 87,000 wingers now”, but suggested Diomande appears to stand out from the rest. Lynch’s response strongly hinted that the Leipzig attacker is highly regarded inside Liverpool’s recruitment plans. “I think if Liverpool could get him this summer they would absolutely love to,” Lynch said.

Yan Diomande Emerging as Liverpool Priority While Liverpool continue to be linked with several forwards across Europe, Lynch repeatedly returned to Diomande as the name that makes the most sense. “I’d be surprised if Diomande is not the first choice to be honest,” he admitted during the discussion. That comment immediately elevated the significance of Liverpool’s interest.

Throughout the conversation, Lynch compared Diomande with other reported targets, including Bradley Barcola, but consistently pointed towards the RB Leipzig forward as the more suitable fit. One major reason is versatility. Lynch explained that while Barcola naturally prefers operating from the left side, Liverpool’s squad balance may require somebody more flexible.
