Their last three series came against the best team in the American League (the Tampa Bay Rays), the best team in the National League (the Atlanta Braves) and one of the hottest teams in baseball (the Philadelphia Phillies). The Red Sox lost all three series, falling to 19-27. This week, however, they finally get a break in the schedule for what feels like the first time this season.

Boston has back-to-back series against teams with losing records in the Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins. The Royals are 20-27 and have been ice-cold lately, losing six of their last seven games. They also have one of the worst offenses in baseball and are averaging just 4.
