Ronda Rousey weighed in heavier than Gina Carano before their fight, but it was the opposite – and by a wide margin – on fight night. According to the California State Athletic Commission, Carano gained 10 pounds and weighed 152 pounds on fight night after tipping the scale at 141. 4 one day before.
Rousey, meanwhile, gained only one pound between official weigh-ins and fight night, going from 142 to 143. The size difference didn't matter for Rousey as she ran through Carano with a 17-second armbar submission win this past Saturday in the MVP MMA 1 headliner at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. Heading into the fight, Carano shined a spotlight on her shocking weight loss in a social media post, sharing that she lost 100 pounds since September 2024 and revealing that she was "pre-diabetic" and "had trouble simply walking" in 2024.
