Kentucky has contacted the brother of a star NBA rookie
The Kentucky Wildcats and coach Mark Pope are looking at a number of top 2027 recruits, including the brother of a young NBA star.
The Kentucky Wildcats need to land some top recruits in 2027, and coach Mark Pope is in desperate need of some recruiting wins. He has already offered several of the top players in the class, and has contacted several more. One of those is forward Kager Knueppel .
It's not hard to make make connections to Knueppel's older brother Kon, who played for the Duke Blue Devils for a season before heading to the NBA. There, the older Knueppel has quickly became a star for the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 18. 5 points per game, and shooting 43% from three-point range.
Kager, meanwhile, is currently a four-star recruit in the 2027 class, currently ranked as the No. 80 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings. He's expected to climb even higher, though.
Kentucky hasn't offered him yet, but they have been in contact. Former Wildcats guard Tyler Herro's father is Knueppel's AAU coach, so there's a contact point. Assistant coach Cody Fueger has also attended a few games.
