Clemson lands Top 100 safety Jarrell Chandler, much-needed recruiting win
Clemson has had a brutal run of recruiting, making landing this 4-star safety a much needed win.
Clemson landed another major commitment for its 2027 recruiting class on Monday. Four-star safety Jarrell Chandler announced he is committing to the Tigers, choosing Clemson over Tennessee, Miami and Vanderbilt. The Halls, Tennessee native had been heavily connected to Tennessee throughout much of the recruiting process, especially during the spring.
Clemson stayed involved though, and the Tigers were able to build momentum late to secure the pledge from one of the top defensive backs in the class. The 6-foot-2 safety visited Clemson earlier this year for the Elite Retreat and had plans to return for an official visit at the end of May. Clemsonโs coaching staff continued making Chandler a priority over the past several months, including an in-person visit at his high school last week.
Chandler is regarded as one of the top safeties in the 2027 cycle, currently ranked inside the national Top 100 by Rivals. He becomes the eighth player committed in Clemsonโs 2027 class and gives the Tigers another highly rated defensive piece for the future. He also joins Harrison Luke as the second safety committed in the class, while adding another nationally ranked prospect alongside linebacker Bryce Kish.
