Dodgers Embarrass Angels 15-2

Yahoo Sports

Multi-run innings late catapulted Los Angeles Dodgers over hapless Los Angeles Angels in laugher.

For Los Angeles Dodgers fans looking to see if their team had any offense in the bats, they were quite pleased after the Dodgers totally embarrassed the Los Angeles Angels 15-2 on Saturday night as the Freeway Series continued at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. The game actually was tight through five innings as the Dodgers held a slim 1-0 lead. But a pair of five-run innings in the sixth and ninth innings, along with a four-run eighth inning, secured the win.

Before getting to the hitting heroes, let's talk about Dodgers starter Justin Wrobleski. Wrobleski went six innings, giving up six hits, two earned runs, walked one, and struck out five. His record this season now goes to 6-1.

The Dodgers' bullpen was outstanding on Saturday night, with Blake Treinen, Wyatt Mills, and Charlie Barnes only giving up one hit while walking a combined three batters and striking out a combined two Angels. Los Angeles jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Will Smith's sacrifice fly. Then, at least for the Dodgers, things got fun.

Andy Pages coaxed a bases-loaded walk and that stretched Los Angeles' lead to 2-0. Max Muncy then got a bases-loaded walk off of Angels starter and loser Jose Soriano, putting the Dodgers up 3-0. Teoscar Hernandez was hit by a pitch, bringing home Will Smith and the lead bumped up to 4-0.
