Keyshawn Davis has bigger names in mind for his next fight, and a possible move up to 147

Keyshawn Davis had a pretty easy time in the ring in tonight’s rematch with Nahir Albright , winning a wide unanimous decision , but says he may not be long for the 140 lb division. Davis admitted he had trouble getting motivated for the rematch with Albright, saying it wasn’t what he wanted to do, and that Top Rank “insisted” on the fight. “I want to fight guys like Oscar Duarte , I want to fight people like Devin Haney , I was on the phone with Lamont Roach ,” he said.

“I’m calling out these other guys to make a bigger fight for my legacy, but Top Rank insisted I fight Nahir Albright, so they got it. ” When reminded that he’s likely to get an order to fight Lindolfo Delgado for the vacant IBF title at 140, Davis almost rolled his eyes a bit, before saying that issues making weight may send him up to the welterweight division for his next fight. “I’ll probably go to 147, I’m not even gonna lie.

All this making weight stuff, it ain’t for me,” he said, acknowledging his trouble making the weight on Friday , which he’d also struggled with fighting at 135. “As y’all can see, I ain’t good at making weight, I just know how to fight. I don’t know.

I’ll talk to my coaches about that. Either way, it’s gonna be ‘BTA’ in whatever weight class I go to. ” Davis has had just two fights at the 140 lb limit, both coming this year, after his move up from lightweight following missing weight and having to vacate the WBO title in 2025.
