Nate Diaz squared off in a Welterweight bout earlier this evening (Sat. , May 16, 2026) at MVP MMA 1 inside Intuit Arena in Inglewood, California. In a violent scrap, Perry defeated Diaz via second-round doctor stoppage.
Perry opened the fight with major aggression, swinging looping shots at his taller foe. Diaz stuck the jab and looked to clinch up to avoid Perry’s wild swings. From close quarters, Perry landed heavy elbows and knees.
Diaz tried a throw from the clinch and ended up on his back, but he quickly threw up multiple submission attempts, putting Perry on the defensive. Perry scrambled to his feet and started ripping the body when they reset. Diaz hated the body shots, but he stayed upright and landed a nice series of jabs.
Just as Diaz started bleeding, he also began taking over with his boxing. Before long, both were bloody! Perry finished the first round with a string of elbows.
