North Bend will have a trio of girls at the state tennis tournament. Doubles partners Olivia Smith and Grace Clark and singles player Amelia Peck all advanced to the state tournament by placing fourth in the district tournament at North Bend. Smith and Clark, who were seeded third in the doubles bracket qualified for state by beating Marshfield’s Caroline Knutson and Chloe Runn in a three-set match in the quarterfinals.

But they lost in the semifinals to the eventual champions Paige Cohee and Tanaya Mahar of Cascade Christian and in the third-place match to Natalie Hung and Ryleigh Ho of St. Mary’s in two more three-set battles. Peck, who was not seeded, won her quarterfinal match before losing in the semifinals and in the third-place match.

St. Mary’s had the top three finishers — champion Carys Chamberland, runner-up Adalie Ford and third-place finisher Mio Cabalo. Marshfield did not have any state qualifiers.

The state tournament is Thursday through Saturday at Oregon State University in Corvallis.
