For a little bit, the Steelers' quarterback situation seemed like it was in limbo, and their only hope was for Aaron Rodgers to come back. But now they have a quality short term answer for this upcoming season.

Aaron Rodgers is back in Pittsburgh for one more year. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Rodgers and the Steelers have reached an agreement on a one year contract, worth $25 million. Compensation update: Aaron Rodgers is expected to sign a one-year deal worth up to $25 million, per sources.

There was speculation on Rodgers’ future in the NFL, after his season with the Steelers, and many believed that last season was going to be his final one. However, there was also hope internally that Rodgers would stay for at least one more year in the Steel City.

And in hopes not to create an offseason stir like last season, the Steelers had placed an UFA tender on him, which blocked him from signing anywhere other than Pittsburgh until July 22. However, the interest in a reunion was mutual. That internal hope that emanated throughout the Steelers facility, turned into reality after Steelers General Manager Omar Khan revealed that he and Rodgers’ representatives were in discussions .
