UFC Vegas 117 video: Tommy Gantt smashes Artur Miniev in debut
Former NC State wrestler Tommy Gantt continues to impress as he welcomes tougher competition.
Tommy Gantt has officially arrived. At UFC Fight Night 276 , Gantt (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC drowned and finished fellow promotional debutant Artur Miniev (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) for a TKO stoppage at 2:51 of Round 2. The lightweight bout took place at Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
Gantt, 33, is a former North Carolina State University Division-I All-American wrestler, so it's no surprise he resorted to his roots in order to best attack. He repeatedly shot for takedowns on Miniev and eventually got one. He worked to the back mount and fired down punches.
Miniev was unable to escape and the bouts was called off. STILL UNDEFEATED Tommy Gantt gets it done! šŗ @paramountplus pic.
