Major championships often throw up surprises, but the leaderboard is unlike anything Aberg has seen before. More than 20 players are within a handful of strokes of 54-hole leader Alex Smalley, including several big names.

Rory McIlroy , Jon Rahm, and Xander Schauffele are among the top players with strong chances heading into the final round. Ludvig Aberg shocked by PGA Championship leaderboard Ludvig Aberg’s two-under-par 68 on Saturday improved his overall score to -4, putting him in a tie for second place. Even though Aberg is within touching distance of the lead, he will need to beat dozens of contenders on Sunday.

“I think there are a lot of good players within striking distance going into tomorrow, and it’s a cool thing, I think, for the viewers. “I think it’s cool to see that many guys have a chance to win a tournament. But it doesn’t necessarily change the way you play this golf course.
