North Carolina baseball clinched the ACC regular-season title, securing the No. 1 seed after winning two of three games against NC State.

North Carolina clinched the ACC regular-season title by taking two of three games from NC State in the final weekend of the regular season. It is the 17th regular-season conference crown in program history and the second in three years under head coach Scott Forbes . The Tar Heels (43-10-1) also secured the No.

1 seed and a double bye in next week’s ACC tournament. North Carolina has now won nine straight ACC series since dropping its league-opening set to Virginia. Here is a short recap of each game.

Game 1 – North Carolina 9, NC State 4 North Carolina broke open a tight game with a five-run fifth inning and rode a strong start from Jason DeCaro to a 9-4 win over NC State in the series opener at Doak Field. The Tar Heels methodically built a lead and never let the Wolfpack mount a serious threat, answering each push to keep the game in hand. DeCaro earned his 10th victory, striking out eight and allowing four hits.

He kept NC State scoreless until the sixth, when two leadoff walks came around to score. All four Wolfpack runs came in that inning, including a three-run homer off freshman reliever Caden Glauber, who regrouped to limit further damage. Reliever Walker McDuffie finished it with two scoreless innings, striking out three for his fifth save.
