Still, there has been considerable buzz about a potential trade that could send Celtics star guard Jaylen Brown to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, Paul Pierce isn’t in favor of any deal that includes Brown. "I don't think I would do that," Pierce said Friday on "Ticket & The Truth" regarding a Brown for Antetokounmpo trade.
"Because I won with these guys already. First off, Giannis has been hurt the last couple of years, and Jaylen's younger, that's not something to even entertain. " Pierce raises an excellent point about Antetokounmpo's health, given he played only 36 games this past season.
Since the 2019-20 season, he has exceeded 70 games just once, appearing in 73 games during the 2023-24 season. If the Celtics decide to trade for Antetokounmpo, it would be a bold move involving giving up draft assets in the near future. However, if Antetokounmpo struggles to stay healthy, Boston could end up wasting both Brown and valuable draft capital.
