INDIANAPOLIS — Fever center Aliyah Boston is questionable for Sunday's game against the Seattle Storm because of a lower leg injury. There was no definitive moment that Boston suffered the injury Friday night, but she checked out for the final time with 2:01 left in the third quarter and the Fever announced she was out for the rest of the game during the fourth. Boston has been working back from a lower leg injury she suffered in Unrivaled in late February.
That injury management forced her to miss the Fever's first two preseason games, and she was on a minutes restriction to start the season. She ended up playing 20 minutes on Friday night, scoring nine points. Fever coach Stephanie White did not provide an update on Boston following the game, nor did she say if it was a reaggravation of the injury Boston suffered in Unrivaled.
"I don't have any information on that," White said when asked postgame. "I haven't talked to the medical staff yet. " Storm list three players out vs Fever The Seattle Storm have been hit with some injury woes to start the season, as they listed three players out for Sunday's game.
The Storm will be especially thin in the frontcourt, as 6-foot-6 center Dominique Malonga is the latest addition to the injury report with a concussion. Ezi Magbegor, the Storm's 6-6 forward, suffered a right foot injury while playing for Australia in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in March and will miss at least the first six weeks of the WNBA season. The Storm also listed 6-3 guard Katie Lou Samuelson as out as she continues to recover from an ACL tear she suffered last year.
