The first state champions of the spring will be crowed Sunday at Slater Park in the finals of the 2026 RIIL Boys Tennis Singles and Doubles Tournament.

A new champion will be crowned Sunday at Slater Park in the final of the 2026 RIIL Boys Tennis Singles Tournament. Rain delayed the tournament last weekend, but that didn’t stop the top two seeds from advancing to the finals as No. 1 Brayden Lynch , of Lincoln, survived a three-set affair with La Salle defending state champ Andrew Smith to earn his spot in the final against Hendricken’s Luca Testa, the No.

2 seed. Both Lynch and Testa needed three-set victories to advance. Testa’s came in the quarterfinal round against North Kingstown’s Will Michaud , who he beat 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, while Lynch cruised to a 6-2, 6-2, win over South Kingstown’s Jonah Plonsky .

The match of the quarterfinals took place between Smith, last year’s champ, and East Greenwich sophomore Tate Coker-Dodman , in a rematch of last year’s semifinal. Smith dropped the first set, 6-2, but came back to gain momentum with a 6-2 win in the second before the two All-Staters went back and forth in the third set, with Smith pulling out the win in a tiebreaker. Lynch and Smith put on a show.

The defending champ battled to win the first set, 6-4, before Lynch came back with a 6-4 win in the second. The third set went by the same score, sending Lynch to the finals as he tries to become Lincoln’s first champ since Tom Evans in 1988. Testa matched up with Barrington No.
