H-D shows pitching depth in baseball sweep over Lisbon

LISBON — The depth of its pitching staff has elevated Hermon-DeKalb to the top tier of Section 10 Class D baseball which is currently headed by undefeated Heuvelton. In Friday’s action, four pitchers combined on a 10-0, 6-1 sweep over Lisbon while Heuvelton’s game with Harrisville at Doubleday Field in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown was postponed. H-D 10 - Lisbon 0: Owen Clifford struck out six pitching five innings and Noah Friot closed out the five-inning no-hitter.

Noah MacDonald went 3-4 leading the offense which also included a 2-2 outing by Jon teReille who drove in two runs and two hits from Jacob Whitford. Friot singled in two runs and Kasey Wentzel and Evan Clifford all singled. H-D 6 - Lisbon 1: Noah MacDonald pitched two innings and Jaiden Walrath completed the 12 strikeout five-hitter.

Jon teReille singled twice and Noah Friot doubled. MacDonald, Ben Kotz, Whitford and Anthony Delorme all singled. Gabe Smith doubled for Lisbon and Will Pirie, Blanke Woods and Maverick O’Brien all singled.
