Yankees announce Saturday night lineup vs. Mets

Yahoo Sports

It's the second game of the first 2026 installment of the Subway Series between the Yanks and Mets at Citi Field on Saturday.

NEW YORK - Giancarlo Stanton might not be active, but his road gray pants are in play - thanks to Yankees teammate Jazz Chisholm Jr. The lefty-hitting second baseman borrowed a pair of Stanton's pants, worn baggy style by Chisholm, and he produced a three-hit game - including a two-run double - in Friday night's Subway Series opener, a 5-2 win against the Mets at Citi Field. Chisholm was benched last Tuesday at Baltimore, and it's been a struggle at the plate throughout the first quarter of the season for a player who joined the 30-30 (homers, steals) club as a Yankee last year and is now in his free agent walk year.

Previously, Chisholm had borrowed a pair of teammate Trent Grisham's pants. "Still a G. It works out,'' Chisholm said.

Here's the Yankees lineup, with lefty Carlos Rodon (0-0, 6. 23 ERA) making his second start of the year and the Mets going with an opener in righty Huascar Brazoban (2-1, 2. 14 ERA), with lefty David Peterson probably on deck: Ben Rice, DH Aaron Judge, RF Cody Bellinger, LF Paul Goldschmidt, 1B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
