A hat-trick from Harry Kane and goals from both Tom Bischof and Nicolas Jackson rounded out the scoring for Bayern at the Allianz Arena as it was pretty much party mode from start to finish. Leon Goretzka and Raphaël Guerreiro were both given moments of recognition in front of a home crowd as they played their final Bundesliga matches with Bayern this season before they leave the club in the summer.
Manuel Neuer was also given a standing ovation when he exited the pitch in the second half for Jonas Urbig just under 24 hours after it was announced he’d signed a one-year extension at Bayern. For Kompany, perhaps the only thing missing from the win over Köln was a clean sheet, but Said El Mala spoiled that with his brilliant solo effort in the first half. Still, the party atmosphere was never truly dampened in any way, shape, or form for Bayern and it’s more positive momentum to carry into next weekend’s DFB-Pokal final.
After the win, Bischof couldn’t mask his jubilation at having celebrated his first ever Bundesliga title and how much he admires the team’s never quit, never stop mentality. “I’d love to go completely wild. I just said it: ‘Give me the trophy right now!
