Grandview's Chloe McKnight named OSU Wexner Girls Athlete of the Week

Grandview Heights softball player Chloe McKnight was selected the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Girls Athlete of the Week for May 4-10. McKnight had six hits, including three home runs, and seven RBIs in two games. She had three hits, including a homer, against Ready and earned the win as the pitcher, striking out three and allowing two earned runs.
She had three hits, including two homers, in a win over Fairbanks. McKnight received 57. 9% of the vote and was followed by Newark Catholic softball player Veronica Bailey, who received 38.
4%. Also nominated were Delaware Hayes softball player Gabby Seikel and Pickerington Central softball player Samara Williams. Bailey threw a perfect game against Heath, striking out eight, and was 14 for 19 at the plate in five games with a home run, four doubles and eight RBIs.
She was 4 for 4 against Heath and 3 for 3 in a 13-0 win over Newark. In the circle, she struck out 20 and walked five in four appearances. Seikel threw a no-hitter against Westland, striking out one and walking three to complete a 12-0 run through the OCC-Capital.
