Goretzka, who had an assist, seemed to get hit with the reality that it would be his final performance in a Bayern Munich kit, as a member of the club, at the team’s home stadium during the postgame celebration. “The special moment for me was when I was with the south stand, spoke to the fans and they gave me words of encouragement. That showed me I was and still am part of this family.
I’m just proud of it,” Goretzka said (as captured by FCBayern. com ). Goretzka was given an excellent send-off by the club, his teammates, and the fans alike.
Like any player, Goretzka has had his detractors, but the midfielder put together a very strong career in Bavaria and was an important part of some of the top teams in the club’s history. While he might be uncertain about what lies ahead, he can look back and appreciate the places that he has been.
