Leeds are open to selling the Italian and the 22-year-old could push to leave the Elland Road club as he is not a starter under Whites manager Daniel Farke. Freiburg are already in talks with the representatives of the ‘devastating’ Gnonto, but getting a deal done is currently proving tricky.
A loan deal with an obligation to buy could also be struck for the Italian international. The winger played 27 games across all competitions for Leeds this term, but he started just seven times, scoring once and weighing in with two assists. Gnonto is likely to keep struggling to break into the Whites starting XI and moving elsewhere could appeal to him as long as regular playing opportunities are guaranteed.
The Inter Milan academy graduate has 13 caps for Italy but has not played for the Azzurris since 2023 and has had to settle for playing for their under-21s in recent months.
